TEACHER & EDUCATIONAL CONSULTING

I currently offer individual teacher coaching, community consulting, and group professional development. I prefer to work with a community across an agreed upon period of time, however, I will offer one-time professional development workshops if desired.

The purpose of teacher and educational consulting is to foster community-centered teaching collectives, or individual educators, that center(s) equity and justice. To better meet the needs of the full educator community, not just those with unearned privileges, I provide teacher education that is justice-oriented and builds pedagogical proficiency.  

My approach to teacher education and consulting is collaborative, community centered, humanizing, and antiracist. I work with educators by centering the needs of community members as I guide and support them through various reflexive, educational, and practical actions towards justice-oriented pedagogical proficiency.


Who is this work for? I have experience providing educational consulting work with contact improvisation collectives, community garden collectives, and pre-service early childhood/elementary educators. My consulting work is applicable for pre-service and in-service educators in these fields and more!

COVID-19: I am able to provide teacher and educational consulting services digitally through technologies such as Zoom and Google Workspace.

Recently, I've worked with the Core Scope of the Values and Vision of The Everything Space Garden Project, a ShiftMeals Grow Team site, to reshape their values, vision, and positionality statement to better reflect their embodied-community approach to food and environmental justice.

INDIVIDUAL TEACHER COACHING

I will work one to one with an individual educator to develop a justice-oriented approach to pedagogy and curriculum building. I am excited to work with teachers in local communities, schools, and festival teachers. We will work together to design a personalized coaching plan that can include practices of consulting, co-learning, observation, and teaching materials/portfolio building.

COMMUNITY CONSULTING

Are you a teaching collective in a local contact improv community? A jam or festival organizer? A school or group of PreK-12 educators? A private dance studio? I will work with your teaching community to develop a justice-oriented approach to pedagogy and curriculum building for your particular community. We will work together to design a community education and consulting  plan that can include strategies for centering the needs of your community, crafting a teaching philosophy, and designing a collective curriculum. The plan can include educational and practical workshops, teacher observation, and teaching material building.

GROUP PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Are you a school or studio administrator/leader? Are you a jam or festival organizer/organization in the CI community? A group of critically minded educators? Based on your interests and needs, I will provide a professional development workshop intensive on the need for and practical applications of critical teacher education in CI, early childhood education, arts education, or more. Ideally, the intensive would be community-situated and intended to lead to longer term teacher development. Intensives can be a mixture of educational talks, guided practice workshops, community discussions, and teaching material generation.
